MODERNA’S MRNA PLATFORM AND APPLICATIONS TO VACCINES AGAINST INFECTIOUS DISEASES

September 21th

Carole Henry defended her PhD from the University of Franche-Comté in 2010. During that time while in the INSERM UMR645 (now UMR1098 RIGHT) she studied resistance to the anti-CD20 antibody, Rituximab, in B cell malignancies. In 2011, she started her postdoctoral training at the University of Chicago under the supervision of Dr Patrick Wilson. There she studied various B cell populations and human antibody responses in the context of autoimmunity and vaccination. In 2016, she became a young investigator and focused on ways to make better vaccines especially against influenza. In 2020, Dr Henry joined the Infectious Disease Research department at Moderna where she is currently developing mRNA vaccines against various pathogens.
